The UNISDR - Regional office for the Americashas its Regional Head Office in the City of Knowledge, Panama. This unit was created back in 1992, within the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) context, turning into the regional office for the UNISDR in year 2000 when The UNISDR mechanism followed in order the one of the IDNDR
