Thematic Reporting Framework 2007-2009
From HFA-PEDIA
Thematic Report
Thematic Reporting will be coordinated across broad thematic areas - as the 4 ‘cross cutting’ issues identified by the Hyogo framework, as defined by the ‘thematic platforms’, and other areas identified by the UNISDR’s Disaster Risk Reduction: 2007 Global Review.
Where appropriate, inputs for the thematic area reports are to be facilitated by the ISDR secretariat. The thematic platforms in turn, are encouraged to coordinate and align their analysis of trends and progress directly with National Platforms/HFA Focal Points and/or national authorities and sub/regional institutions, as relevant.
Progress reviews are invited from across key thematic areas, notably; early warning, risk identification, recovery and reconstruction, capacity development, environment, climate change adaptation education, and urban risk, amongst others.
Progress on specific thematic issues from the national level – to be assessed by national universities, scientific institutions, research organizations, and policy units across countries, will be coordinated by National Platforms/HFA Focal points and/or thematic focal points, as nominated/ identified by the thematic platforms. At the sub/ regional level, the thematic platforms will be encouraged to engage with regional institutions preparing analysis of progress and challenges across levels and sectors of activity in support of disaster risk reduction and recovery.
