HFA Reporting at the Regional Level
Reporting at the Regional level for the 2007-2009 period involves the following:
a. Inter-government reports prepared by the sub /regional convening institutions will be utilized to inform the analysis of ISDR’s biennial global assessment report.
b. In addition, the sub/regional bodies are encouraged to:
i. Coordinate and facilitate country inputs in the sub/region to ensure sufficient quality and representation of national and regional realities in the online HFA database, and
ii. Provide an analysis of trends in progress made, and challenges encountered at the national and (sub) regional level.
c. Bilateral, multilateral and international activities of inter-governmental regional structures in DRR will be captured and cross checked with information provided by countries where the projects are implemented, in order to get a comprehensive overview about the implementation of the HFA. In case of regional political structures this is true for external projects but also for internal regional activities.
d. Reporting from the national, sub regional and regional level is facilitated by the ISDR’s regional offices, in support of sub/ regional institutions – and especially in the absence of a functioning body to carry out this task at the regional /sub regional level.
At the sub/ regional level, regional institutions are encouraged to engage with the thematic platforms in preparing analysis of progress and challenges across levels and sectors of activity in support of disaster risk reduction and recovery.
