The Business Civic Leadership Center cordially invites you to a two day event in the Philippines focused on disaster resilience.
Day one will bring together two hundred businesses from across the Philippines to learn disaster risk reduction and business continuity best practices. With earthquakes, cyclones, and tsunamis being major risks to all businesses in the Philippines, the strategies learned at this event will help businesses continue their operations in times of disaster. The question is not if Philippines businesses will be affected by a disaster, it is when.

Panels will include:

• Case studies on private sector business continuity planning (BCP) BCP,
• Lessons from the Philippines and the region Guidelines for formatting and implementing BCPs Business continuity workshop

Day two will be a high level meeting of fifty local and international practitioners who will discuss disaster coordination and partnership challenges and solutions. The first part of the day will focus on local/state/national coordination in the Philippines. Coordination challenges severely inhibit communities from recovering quickly after disasters, so this conversation will bring the relevant practitioners together to discuss solutions. We are inviting top officials in the Philippines government to participate in this important discussion.

The second part of the day will focus on international response coordination, lessons, and partnership[s] opportunities. Top international donors from companies as well as The Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations, and other international disaster organizations will be invited. Selected topics include: public private partnerships, resource mobilization, access and customs, international support coordination, Philippines government policies and players, etc. The goal is to get a better sense of how international aid will be organized and coordinated in the Philippines in advance of a major event.
