The Central American Probabilistic Risk Assessment (CAPRA)

The CAPRA goal is to develop a disaster risk platform of information and tools to facilitate a comprehensive approach for decision makers and risk management. The initiative is the result of expressed interest from Central American countries whose priorities are aligned with the principles of CEPREDENAC, the Central American Coordination Centre for Disaster Prevention. Led by CEPREDENAC, in collaboration with Central American governments, the United Nation’s International Strategy for Disaster Reduction, the Inter American Development Bank and the World Bank, the platform will support decision makers in sectors such as emergency management, land use planning, public investment, and financial markets for risk transfer.
