Regional Unit for The Americas

The ISDR in Latin America and the Caribbean has its Regional Head Office in the City of Knowledge, Panama. This unit was created back in 1992, within the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction (IDNDR) context, turning into the regional office for the ISDR in year 2000 when The ISDR secretariat mechanism followed in order the one of the IDNDR. One of the major partners in the region is the Pan- American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) which is hosting and providing administrative support to the Latin America and Caribbean Unit of ISDR.
