The call for case studies and good practices has the objective of identifying problems around five thematic sessions defined for the meeting. These five thematic sessions, respond to the five priority areas of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA).

Hyogo Framework for Action
Governments around the world have committed to take action to reduce
disaster risk, and have adopted a guideline to reduce vulnerabilities to
natural hazards, called the Hyogo Framework for Action (Hyogo Framework).
The Hyogo Framework assists the efforts of nations and communities to become
more resilient to, and cope better with the hazards that threaten their
development gains.

Urban Risk Management in Latin America: Compendium of articles
This publication presents a selection of articles carried out within the
framework of the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in the
Americas and the Urban Risk Thematic Platform in particular. The thirteen
articles included here reflect diverse perspectives and interests
surrounding disaster risk in several cities of Latin America. The authors,
real actors from cities both large and small, face tangible issues of
disaster risk in distinct settings.

information exchange and improved reporting. This online interactive
